During the trial of an Arkansas lumber supplier In February, one of the jurors tweeted his buddies that they should stay away from that product: "It's bad mojo," he thumbed, "and they'll probably cease to exist, now that their wallet is 12m lighter."

During a four-month-long political corruption trial in Philadelphia earlier this year, one juror was found to have been updating his Twitter account almost daily, at one point posting: "Stay in touch for a big announcement on Monday everyone."

Wal-Mart Expands Cheap No-Contract Wireless Plan

Walmart is teaming up with prepaid carrier TracFone to offer Straight Talk, a no-contract wireless service.
Users can choose between a $45 per month plan that offers unlimited calls, texts, and mobile Web access, or a $30 per month plan that provides 1,000 minutes, 1000 texts, and 30MB of mobile Web access.

Straight Talk will offer three flip-phone options: the Motorola W385 for $79.99, the MotoRazr V3a for $99.99, or the LG200 for $29.99.

Prisons scramble to crack down on illegal cell phones

Officers and investigators seized 391 cell phones in New Jersey prisons and halfway houses in the year since the state started keeping track, according to records obtained by The Star-Ledger.

7th Circuit Cuts Off Challenge to Chicago Cell Phone Ban

Chicago cell phone users fighting to fend off a city ordinance that bars them from driving and chatting on their phone without a hands-free device have lost another round.

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a decision Thursday (pdf) agreed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that the class action mounting a constitutional challenge to the 2005 city law "has no legs." And by the way, that law also precludes texting and surfing the Internet while driving, the court noted.
